Learning and Skills - how can RSA Scotland contribute?

The exploratory Seminar on developing RSA Scotland’s work on education and skills (held on 12 February 2009) involved many of the key stakeholders in the field. Scottish Information Literacy Project

I am John Crawford, the director of the Scottish Information Literacy Project, which began in 2004. The Project consists of Christine Irving, my externally funded research assistant, and me. We were initially concerned only with developing an information literacy framework, linking secondary and tertiary education which would facilitate transitions and develop independent learning skills. Education and Skills in Scotland

In November 2007, Education and Skills came at the top of the agenda from RSA Scotland conference. In the recent RSA Scotland survey, 74% of Fellows identified Education and Skills as a priority challenge in Scotland and 59% of Fellows who responded to the survey said that Education and Skills was a key area of interest both personally and professionally.So, bearing that in mind and considering the already busy horizon of initiatives that intend to work to improve the learning and skills agenda…See More

Curriculum for Excellence- Every teacher to receive their own guidelines for the Curriculum for Excellence

Every teacher in Scotland will receive their own personal copy of the guidelines for Curriculum for Excellence, Scotland's new approach to learning and teaching to bring about change in the classroom.



Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop has told teachers to expect the new guidance to be delivered next week, as teachers and schools look ahead to the new approach being fully implemented from August 2010.
